Product Description

Hand taps, usually made of carbon tool steel or alloy tool steel. They are suitable for tapping by hand. They generally consist of 2 or 3 pieces as one set. Each one is processed in turn. There are two designs of equal diameter and unequal diameter for taps. For taps with equal diameter design, only the cutting cone length is different for each branch; for taps with unequal diameter design, the thread size of each branch is different, and only the last one has a complete tooth profile.



Straight flute taps have the strongest versatility. They can be processed with through holes or Blind holes on non-ferrous metals or ferrous metals. They are also the cheapest and have the strongest rigidity. Therefore, straight flute taps are generally preferred for processing materials with higher hardness (such as hardened steel above 40HRC), and the material whose chips are in the form of powder particles (such as cast iron and cast aluminum) will be the first choice for straight fluted taps.
